Privacy policy
Version 1 · Effective November 20, 2026
Who we are
Pedigree Standard provides software for breeders to keep their animals' records and pedigrees, publish a website and manage enquiries, litters and buyers. This policy explains what we do with the personal information of the people who visit this website, create an account or use the service.
Information we collect
- Account details. When you create a program or are invited to one: your name, email address and a sign-in credential. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash.
- Billing. When you subscribe, payment is taken by our payment provider, Stripe. We receive the plan, status and the last digits and brand of the card, never the full card number.
- What you enter into your program. Animals, pedigrees, health records, photos, documents, contacts, applications, messages and similar records. This belongs to your program. See "Programs and their buyers" below.
- Technical and security information. Sign-in activity, the time of requests, and error reports, with passwords and secret tokens removed, so we can keep the service secure and working.
- Messages to us. Anything you send when you contact us or ask for support.
How we use it
- To provide, secure and support the service and to take payment for it.
- To send messages you need, such as invitations, sign-in links, receipts and notices about your account.
- To fix faults and prevent misuse.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising cookies or trackers on this website.
Programs and their buyers
Each program is responsible for the information it collects through its own website and records, for example enquiries, waitlist and application forms, and buyer records. We hold that information for the program and handle it on the program's instructions; we do not use it for our own purposes. A person who has given information to a program should contact that program about it. Each program's website has its own privacy policy page.
Cookies
We use a cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms against forgery. These are needed for the service to work. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this website.
Who we share it with
We use other companies to run the service: cloud hosting and storage, our database, email delivery, payment processing, and error monitoring. They may handle personal information only to provide that service to us. When you connect a service yourself (your own storage, a signing service or social accounts), information is shared with it as you direct. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Support access
Our support staff can look at a program's records only when the program's owner has granted access for a limited time. Each grant and what was done under it is recorded.
How long we keep it
We keep account and program information while the account is active. After a program cancels, its dashboard becomes read-only and its public website stays up for a limited period; after that both go offline and the information is deleted after a further retention period, except what we must keep for tax, legal or security reasons.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or limit how we use it. Program owners can export their program's data from their dashboard. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us using the details on this website and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls that keep each program's records separate from every other program's, and monitoring. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the version and the effective date shown above. If a change is significant we will tell account holders by email.
